Commencement Ceremony at JJC

How do I submit an application for graduation?

Please visit the JJC Graduation website for more information at www.jjc.edu/info/graduationapp

When will I learn the status of my graduation application?

In approximately six to eight weeks you will receive an email to your JJC student email from the Graduation Office regarding your status. You may also check your status online in eResources.

How do I know if I am ready to graduate?

Schedule an appointment with your counselor or advisor for a graduation check. Visit www.jjc.edu/info/counseling

Who do I see if I have questions about the evaluation of my transcripts from another institution?

Contact the Academic Credentials Office at www.jjc.edu/info/credentials

Do I need to contact the Graduation Office regarding any courses I add or drop?

Yes, failure to do so may result in a denial of graduation or a delay in processing.

Am I required to participate in the graduation ceremony?

No, although participation is encouraged. However, all graduates need to submit a graduation application in order to be awarded a degree or certificate

Is there a cost for participation in the graduation ceremony?

Yes, there is a nominal fee for the cap and gown.

How do I order my cap and gown?

Please visit the Josten's website at www.jostens.com/college and follow the instructions below.

  • Enter "Joliet" in the school name field
  • Click on Joliet Junior College
  • Click on the picture of the cap
  • Click on Student

Can I wear a cap and gown from a previous JJC graduation ceremony?

Yes, you are required to contact the Graduation Office in order to be seated with your fellow classmates in your academic program.

What do I do if my graduation application has been denied?

Schedule an appointment with your counselor or advisor for a graduation check by visiting www.jjc.edu/info/counseling. After meeting with your counselor or advisor, you may need to reapply for graduation.
